The Phantom of the Opera soundtrack cellist

Luca Pincini studied cello at Accademie Santa Cecilia in Rome and Chigiana di Siena, with Maurizio Gambini, Rocco Filippini, Franco Maggio Ormezowsky e Misha Maisky. He wan the 1° Prize at the Competition “L. Perosi” in Biella City and also at the Festival “Città di Vittorio Veneto”. 

 

Luca Pincini was principal Cello of the most prestigious italian orchestras as Teatro Carlo Felice di Genova, Teatro Regio di Torino, Teatro la Fenice di Venezia, Teatro dell’ Opera di Roma, Sinfonica di Torino della Rai e Sinfonica Nazionale della Rai.He also carried out several collaborations with international music institutions in Switzerland, Germany, France, Spain, Finland, Czech Republic, Denmark, Russia, Egypt, Latin America, U.S.A., and Japan.

 

His large repertoire goes from the classical tradition to the newest contemporary composers  spacing  to various contamination. He himself is author of original music compositions.  

 

With the pianist Gilda Buttà, his wife, he frequently performs in Duo, playing, besides of an immense classic repertoire, also many works  by contemporary musicians ( many composed specifically for this DUO ).

Luca Pincini is also very appreciated for his work in soundtracks for the Cinema, Television, Theatre. he collaborated actively and closely with M° Ennio Morricone for decades so as with  L. Bacalov, A. Trovajoli, F. Piersanti, P. Buonvino and others. 

Ennio Morricone dedicated to him one of his composition ”Monodia for cello solo” and invites him  as soloists in his  live concerts worldwide.

Other excellent collaborations in the Pop music are with italian artists as Luca Barbarossa, Adriano Celentano, Carmen Consoli, Elisa, Jovanotti, Patty Pravo, Mina, Renato Zero... 

He recorded for Sony, Decca, Warner, Meg Italy, Cam, Image Music, Heristal, U07, Almendra Music.

 Luca Pincini  is professor of Cello at the Conservatory of Pescara in Italy.
